Entrepreneur
Back in school I put theory into practice with my Matura project and started my first business, hid-tech.ch. After roles at Swisscom and be-advanced AG (most recently as Head of Startup Programme), I co-founded Boum AG in 2021 and was its CEO on the business side until mid-2023. Since its founding, Boum AG has raised CHF 1.3 million in total (source: Startupticker), including a round of just under one million francs in December 2022. In mid-2023 I left the company and sold my shares.
Companion in transformation
I first experienced transformation from the inside, at Swisscom. Then I co-built a company with Boum, with everything that goes with it: financing, team, pivot. Today I help organisations understand, formulate and communicate their transformation. I always start with the why, because people usually know what it is about. They just cannot put it into words yet.
Lecturer and mentor
Since November 2023 I have run Jurt Consulting. I am also an expert in entrepreneurship at Bern University of Applied Sciences and a startup mentor. Since 2025 I have also taught at ZHAW. I bring practice from startup and transformation projects into teaching, and the other way round.
Trainer
I have reviewed more than 100 startup ideas and heard more than 100 startup pitches and helped improve them, partly student projects. As a pitch trainer I worked for be-advanced AG and Aare Ventures, among others. On top of that come countless business coaching conversations with people before and after founding. At Speak! I trained leaders and teams from a wide range of industries, in Switzerland and abroad, in presentation skills and rhetoric.
How I work
I ask about the why until it is clear. Then ideas become a plan that adds up. In training I give feedback that goes into detail and makes you better fast, in a setting where you feel safe. I say what I think, even when it is uncomfortable. My aim is that you can do it yourself afterwards. Or as a client put it: “Anyone can do off-the-shelf. Unconventional, not so much.”
I only take on as many clients as I can serve with full quality and attention.
For almost every problem there is a solution, or at least the right contact. My network reaches entrepreneurs and investors, and I open doors where it helps you.
Off the clock: I sing in the bands Paradise Kid and Duobios, ride a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and am married to Jenny, by my own, entirely unbiased assessment the best doctor in the world, and dad to Theodor. Life is short. Joy, friends and family matter to me. That shapes how I work: direct, human and without unnecessary baggage.
